January 20, 2018, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM @ Chino Basin Water Conservation District
Educators, you're invited to a fun-filled professional development day with NASA Jet Propulsion Lab, CREEC, Center for the Collaborative Classroom, and National Science Teacher Association on Saturday, January 20 from 8:30am-12pm at the Water Conservation Center. Explore activities and methods for bringing Earth science and environmental engineering activities into your classroom and out into your schoolyard. We will use the concept of watersheds as a lens to explore simple ways to engage in scientific investigations outside, investigate how earth's surfaces change over time through a beach science activity, and design and build water filtration devices using commonly available materials. All activities will be rooted in the Environmental Principles and Concepts and NGSS Science and Engineering Practices. Registration opens on January 5 at 12pm. Spaces are limited.
