When rain falls in Southern California, it is best if we can slow, spread, and sink it into our landscapes, for multiple benefits, both to our gardens and the region. In this class, we will explore practical, low cost approaches to capturing the rain at home. Learn a practical approach that will cover infiltration basins and rain gardens, swales and berms, and rain barrels and cisterns.

December's seed library class will be about designing your garden to accommodate seed saving. There are easy ways to still have a productive garden that you can harvest from, enjoy fresh cut flowers and a bounty of herbs while not sacrificing your opportunities to seed save. In preparation for our January class on square foot gardening, this class will help you get your garden ready for spring planting! Don’t forget to check out our “what to plant” list for this month in our seed library and pick up or drop off some seeds there too!
