In celebration of Latino Conservation Week (September 12-20), our garden is hosting a bilingual Spanish / English BUG (Biodiversity in Urban Gardens) BioBlitz. This event brings together multi-generational families and community members for a morning of ciencia ciudadana (community science) and hands-on exploration. Participants will learn how to use the iNaturalist app to document and identify different organisms in our garden (plants, insects, birds, fungi).

No experience or knowledge is necessary.

Photos taken with the app automatically identify the organism, allowing everybody to participate in this important effort to document the diverse life that shows up in gardens containing native plants.

Please plan to arrive at 9:00 for the introduction, then stay for as long as you would like. Participation until 12:00 is not required.
