Description

The CHINO BASIN WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT, hereinafter referred to as the DISTRICT, will receive responses for Request for Proposals for NATURAL PLAYGROUND DESIGN SERVICES until Friday, January 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chino Basin Water Conservation District, located at 4594 San Bernardino Street, Montclair, California 91763.

All requests shall be addressed to afernandez@cbwcd.org stating the company name, address, contact name, title, and telephone numbers. All e-mails should reference the RFP number and title.

Proposals will be received from qualified respondents to provide Design, community engagement, construction documents, preliminary budget and bidding documents for a Nature Exploration Area at the District’s Headquarters. The successful proposal must employ staff that possess or obtain a valid Landscape Architect License; Certified Playground Safety Inspector is optional.

Brief Description of Scope of Work: The selected firm will be responsible for providing comprehensive design services for the construction of a new Nature Exploration Area (NEA) at the Wilderness Park owned by and adjacent to the Chino Basin Water Conservation District. The NEA design should integrate sustainable, nature-focused design elements and promote environmental stewardship. The intent is to create a space that encourages interactive learning and exploration, supports the development of gross motor skills, and fosters an appreciation of nature for the families in Montclair and our community. The design will include fencing, shaded seating, opportunities to build and climb and should use repurposed materials whenever possible. The area could range from 2,500 square feet to 7,000 square feet depending on the chosen location. The District is open to suggestions for the materials and overall structure of the NEA.

Job Walk: The District will conduct a Non-Mandatory job walk on December 9, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the District Headquarters, located at 4594 San Bernardino St., Montclair, CA 91763.

The envelope containing the Response to RFP must be sealed and contain the words “Response to Request for Proposals for RFP No. 2024-05 NATURAL PLAYGROUND DESIGN SERVICES for the Chino Basin Water Conservation District.”

It is the responsibility of the respondents to make sure the Response to RFP is in the possession of the Board Clerk/Administrative Coordinator, Chino Basin Water Conservation District, prior to the date and time indicated. Otherwise, the RFP response will be rejected and not considered. Proposals received after the deadline will be considered late. Late proposals will not be accepted and will be returned to the respondent unopened. Faxed proposals are not acceptable.

• Response to Questions due Friday, December 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
• Proposals due by Friday, January 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
• Interviews will be tentatively scheduled on January 24, 2025
• Selection by February 2025
